If you know me and my taste by now, you'll know that this is my favorite book and each reread has made me reflect on Darcy and Lizzie's relationship, their slow-burn romantic moments, and growth as well and I still love a few that aren't in the movie(2005 version)。 Rereading old favorites is magical; it is revisiting a dear place; it cuts open the old wounds that once bleed; it makes you see and think about the flaws and embrace them。 A good story's definition doesn't lie in perfect grammar, wri If you know me and my taste by now, you'll know that this is my favorite book and each reread has made me reflect on Darcy and Lizzie's relationship, their slow-burn romantic moments, and growth as well and I still love a few that aren't in the movie(2005 version)。 Rereading old favorites is magical; it is revisiting a dear place; it cuts open the old wounds that once bleed; it makes you see and think about the flaws and embrace them。 A good story's definition doesn't lie in perfect grammar, writing style, and even characters, it lies in the heart of a reader and their reflection on it。 That's why most of them make us feel homesick。 This is most definitely one of these for me。 。。。more

Austen's observation of the human mind, as in a part of it, is really accurate。 Austen's observation of the human mind, as in a part of it, is really accurate。 。。。more

omg this book is everything!!! like if someone summarized the plot to me i would be like "??? how is this book so famous??" but after reading it i TOTALLY get it。 like obsessed with how ahead of its time the feminism in this book is, obsessed with Jane Austen naming the hottest character after herself。 like everything about it is just perfect, highly recommend it omg this book is everything!!! like if someone summarized the plot to me i would be like "??? how is this book so famous??" but after reading it i TOTALLY get it。 like obsessed with how ahead of its time the feminism in this book is, obsessed with Jane Austen naming the hottest character after herself。 like everything about it is just perfect, highly recommend it 。。。more
Beatriz Accioly,
Gracelyn,
The hype following this book did not meet the actual content。 I was a little disappointed, though I didn't really know what to expect。 I thought the writing was fine, physically descriptive, repetitive and materialistic, which is exactly the picture I am sure that Jane Austen was trying to capture。 I just didn't enjoy it all very much。 It is hard to write these kinds of societal, bridgerton-esque stories, because you can't fully immerse yourself in the world without seeing all the fashion and de The hype following this book did not meet the actual content。 I was a little disappointed, though I didn't really know what to expect。 I thought the writing was fine, physically descriptive, repetitive and materialistic, which is exactly the picture I am sure that Jane Austen was trying to capture。 I just didn't enjoy it all very much。 It is hard to write these kinds of societal, bridgerton-esque stories, because you can't fully immerse yourself in the world without seeing all the fashion and delicacies, and the subtle hints in people's gestures and words。 If the story was told in less words, it might've been more impactful。 I mean I was 300 pages in and the only thing that had happened was Mr。 Collins hitting on Elizabeth (and she wasn't even his first choice bye)。 I think that the romance was incredibly boring, however, I was not upset that Mr。 Darcy and Elizabeth ended up together。 I thought that I would be, but there was crucial character development in Mr。 Darcy, that made him suitable。 It was necessary for the ending, and I'm glad that Jane Austen included it。It is just hard to read about how much women depended on men for money, happiness and prosperity in that time period。 How they rejoiced and threw parties when available men would come to town。 And how they didn't even realize how turned around it was, they just smiled and had good manners。 Most all of the women in this story were portrayed in terrible lights except the two eldest sisters, and the author even went as far to saying which girls were pretty and which girls weren't。 Ugh it's just painful。 。。。more

Una gran historia de amor sin siquiera un beso fugaz 💗💥
Jonathan Honnor,
It was good。 Quite funny, wonderfully ironic voice, and so socially astute that its relevance and popularity has hardly faded。

Erin Donehoo,
I expected this to blow my mind, but maybe watching the movie first spoiled too much 🤷♀️ I still like the story as a whole but I am so bad at struggling to read classic language。
Rosamaria Caputo,
Il libro più bello letto nella mia vita
Jael,
Like many others, I did not expect to love this book as much! Though it was difficult to get into (the first chapters did not make me want to continue at a faster pace, really), the further into the book I got the more I enjoyed it! Putting it in its historic perspective, I think there is much to pick out from and think about as well。Would certainly recommend!

Afeera Sultan,
The book is one of the best books I've read。 The fact that Darcy changes every flaw in his character for Elizabeth and transforms himself from a very haughty, straight-forward person to a comparatively humble and respectful person was a wonderful aspect of the book which gave way to the concept that anyone can change if he or she tries to do so with willingness and determination。 Elizabeth is also shown as a very sensible character who is very caring towards her sister Jane。 The book is one of the best books I've read。 The fact that Darcy changes every flaw in his character for Elizabeth and transforms himself from a very haughty, straight-forward person to a comparatively humble and respectful person was a wonderful aspect of the book which gave way to the concept that anyone can change if he or she tries to do so with willingness and determination。 Elizabeth is also shown as a very sensible character who is very caring towards her sister Jane。 。。。more
Jess,
I can understand why it's called a classic。 Although I'm not well versed in austen era english, but it's very witty at times and a joy to read and listen。 I don't have much time to read so when i saw that Rosamund Pike was narrating a version of Pride and Prejudice i switched immediately。 Even though i love the 2005 movie version (which was the one that drew me in) but i love the book more since it provides a much broader context of what happened。 Because after reading this, the movie's very san I can understand why it's called a classic。 Although I'm not well versed in austen era english, but it's very witty at times and a joy to read and listen。 I don't have much time to read so when i saw that Rosamund Pike was narrating a version of Pride and Prejudice i switched immediately。 Even though i love the 2005 movie version (which was the one that drew me in) but i love the book more since it provides a much broader context of what happened。 Because after reading this, the movie's very sandwiched in comparison。 Overall, yes, we stan a good enemies to lovers 👍👍 。。。more
